Stegra Collaborates with Leading Maritime Firms to Enhance European Green Steel Logistics

Stegra has incorporated leading sea transport companies into its logistics network to manage its shipping operations effectively, ensuring a smooth flow of inbound and outbound goods.
This strategic partnership facilitates the transportation of scrap steel and iron to Boden and the distribution of steel products from Boden to various service centers and direct customers across Europe. Sea transport is crucial in Stegra's comprehensive supply chain and logistics solutions, boosting its operational effectiveness.
Stegra's Innovative European Shipping Collaboration
ESL Shipping and Royal Wagenborg will both manage Stegra's European shipping network, tasked with the transportation of input materials and finished products. ESL Shipping contributes its modern fleet, extensive expertise in Baltic operations, and a strong dedication to sustainability. In contrast, Royal Wagenborg offers significant experience in Baltic shipping, robust ice-class capabilities, and a versatile fleet.
Additionally, Pangaea Logistics Solutions will ensure the delivery of iron ore, leveraging their proficiency in dry bulk shipping, which includes operations in ice-class and Arctic conditions. Serving as a strategic advisor, Clarksons has provided Stegra with shipping and logistics insights to develop and execute scalable, efficient, and lower-carbon ocean freight solutions that enhance its global supply chain. Notably, Clarksons is recognized as the world's largest shipbroker.
Jenny Marin, Head of Logistics at Stegra, expressed optimism about the collaboration with four seasoned players, each bringing a unique set of skills that enhance the efficiency, scalability, and robustness of maritime supply chains crucial for their operations in Boden. "We anticipate a productive partnership," Marin stated.
This announcement aligns with Stegra's recent agreements with the ports of Luleå, Skellefteå, and Umeå, as well as with Green Cargo, the state-owned Swedish railway company, for rail transports linking these ports with the green steel plant in Boden.
